Physical properties

  • Comprizes a mixture of the alkaloids of opium, containing the equivalent of anhydrous morphine 85.5% anhydrous codeine 6.8% and papaverine 7.8%.

  • Analgesia.
  • Sedation.
  • Pre-anesthetic.

Interactions

CNS depressants (anesthetics, antihistamines, barbiturates, phenothiazines, tranquilizers)

  • Enhanced central nervous system (CNS) or respiratory depression may occur.

with diagnostic tests

Plasma amylase  
  • As narcotic analgesics can increase biliary tract pressure levels may be increased for up to 24 hours after drug administration.
