  • Clear, colorless non-pungent volatile liquid (isopropyl ether).
  • Boiling point 58.5°C/137.3°F, saturated vapor. 
  • Blood-gas partition coefficient of 0.7.
  • Pressure at 20°C/68°F of 160 mmHg.

Storage requirements

  • Store in manufacturers' amber colored bottles.
  • Store at room temperature (15-30°C/59-86°F).

Interactions

with other drugs

  • Prolongs the effects of neuromuscular blocking agents.

Interacts with desiccated carbon dioxide (soda lime and barium hydroxide lime) absorbents to produce carbon monoxide and Compound A.
