Physical properties

  • White to pale yellow crystalline powder.
  • Differ from avermectins in the abscence of a disaccharide chain at C13.
  • Melting point: 145-154°C/293-309.2°F.
  • Solubility in water: 0.51 mg/l.
  • Readily soluble in organic solvents.

Storage requirements

  • Tablets: room temperature and protected from light.
  • Topical: at or below room temperature.
  • Injectable: store the unconstituted product at or below room temperature and protected from light. After constitution, the product is stable for 8 weeks in the refrigerator.

Indications

  • For the treatment of ectoparasites and nematodes: fleas, ear mites, heartworm.
  • No action against trematodes, protozoa or cestodes.
