Indications

  • Rarely used in ferrets to prevent coccidiosis; little information available.
  • Decoquinate may have little efficacy against adult coccidia and it may not be highly effective to treat clinical coccidiosis.
  • Doses of decoquinate to treat clinical coccidiosis in ferrets have been reported anecdotally, but their efficacy is unknown.
  • In other species, it is more commonly used for prevention, although it is also labeled to treat clinical coccidiosis.
