Introduction

  • To provide physical support for the entire cornea by completely covering it by suturing the third eyelid across the cornea, thereby aiding its repair.

Uses

Advantages

Disadvantages

  • Unable to visualize and monitor cornea/globe. Precluding accurate monitoring of the eye.
  • May require general anesthesia - infrequently.
