Interactions

with other drugs

  • Potentiated sulfonamides in association with alpha2-adrenergic agonist such as detomidine can induce fatal dysrhythmias.
  • Procaine component of some penicillin preparations can act as a PABA analogue and can overcome the inhibition of folic acid synthesis by the trimethoprim/sulfonamide combination.
