Pathophysiology

  • Blunt or penetrating trauma to the eye may tear the lens capsule and the lens may migrate into the anterior chamber   Lens: subluxation / luxation  .
  • May   →   lens rupture during tearing of the capsule or lens may be directly lacerated or punctured   →   release of lens material into anterior chamber   →   severe anterior uveitis   Uveitis: traumatic  .
