  • Used at 0.9% as isotonic crystalloid.
  • Used as water electrolyte replacement fluid in the management of hypotension/shock Shock (hypertonic saline).
  • Used as a drug diluent.
  • Used as a hypertonic ophthalmic solution to reduce corneal edema and to flush out irritants.
