  • A corticosteroid used in veterinary medicine as an anti-inflammatory drug.
  • Has only 1/4 the glucocorticoid potency of prednisolone Prednisolone and 1/30th that of dexamethasone Dexamethasone.
  • Treatment of hypoadrenocorticism Hypoadrenocorticism.
  • Treatment of shock Shock.

Interactions

NSAIDs

  • Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration if used concurrently.

Insulin

  • Glucocorticoids antagonize effects of insulin Insulin.

Anticonvulsants

Acetozolamide, amphotericin, potassium depleting diuretics

  • Increased risk of hypokalemia.
