Introduction

  • Dysostosis.
  • Inherited dwarfism in the English Pointer.
  • Signs: abnormally short limbs but normal head and body; usually carpal valgus deformity, cranial bowing, metaphyseal enlargement; rarely carpal lameness; thorax flattened dorsoventrally, and thickened growth plates.

Pathogenesis

Etiology

  • Inherited.

Pathophysiology

  • Inherited, congenital developmental abnormality.
  • Rarely limb conformation leads to carpal lameness.
