Government Sets Out Legislation to Increase Maximum Sentences for Animal Cruelty

Those who are found guilty of the worst forms of animal cruelty could face up to five years in prison under a new law proposed for England and Wales...
The maximum sentences would be for acts such as dog fighting, puppy/kitten abuse or farm animal neglect

The new law will complement 'Finn's Law', new legislation that came into force in June this year, to protect service dogs and horses.
