BSE confirmed in Aberdeenshire



Classical Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) has been confirmed on a farm in Aberdeenshire. At present this has been reported as an isolated case that has been detected via national surveillance procedures. The animal did not enter the food chain and Food Standards Scotland have confirmed that there is no risk to human health. The Animal Health Agency (APHA) are investigating the source of the outbreak.
