  • Primarily used to restore normal sinus rhythm to cases of sustained atrial fibrillation    Heart: atrial fibrillation  .
  • Also indicated for the treatment of other re-entrant supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias.

  • Cardiac glycosides: enhanced effect of digoxin   Digoxin   - doubling of steady-state plasma levels.
  • Cimetidine   Cimetidine  : increased plasma-quinidine concentrations.
  • Diuretics: toxicity increased by hyperkalemia with loop and thiazide diuretics.
  • Warfarin   Warfarin sodium  : enhanced anticoagulant effect.
