Introduction

- → Emergency drainage of urinary bladder in cases with outflow obstruction
if a catheter can not be passed.

Minimum consumables
- 22G 1 inch needle.
- Sterile 5 ml syringe.
- Alcohol swab.
Sequelae
Complications
- → Trauma to bladder wall.
- → Peritonitis

Reasons for treatment failure
- Insufficient volume of urine in bladder.
- Contamination of sample with blood.
- Contamination of sample with colonic bacteria.
