Action

  • Lower serum phosphate levels in cats and dogs with by binding phosphate (PO4) in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract making it unavailable for absorption.
  • Neutralize gastric acid.

Indications

  • Management of gastritis Stomach: chronic gastritis.
  • Management of esophagitis Esophagitis.
  • Management of hyperphosphatemia of chronic renal failure (usually only if low phosphate diets are unsuccessful Blood biochemistry: phosphate ).

Adverse reactions

Other reported reactions

  • Constipation.
  • Long-term use (many years) in man has been associated with aluminum toxicity.
