Uses

Action

  • Topical bactericidal, viricidal, and fungicidal agent.
  • Liberates approximately 10% free iodine.
  • Action not impaired by blood, serum, purulent or necrotic tissue.

Indications

  • Treatment of localized bacterial and fungal infections, eg dermatophytoses Skin: dermatophytosis.
  • Used to reduce colonic bacterial numbers in acute cases of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) Hepatic encephalopathy.
