Introduction

  • Cause : extremely rare embryological anomaly (one reported case).
  • Total failure of differentiation of ventral bladder component of cloaca. The ureters may enter into the urrethra, vagina, rectum or a patent urachus.
  • Signs : urine dribbling and scalding from birth.
  • Diagnosis : examination, positive contrast intravenous urography and/or retrograde urethrography Radiography: urethrography.
  • Treatment : surgical transplantation of ureters to bowel.
  • Prognosis : guarded.
