Etymology
- Gk: staphyle - bunch of grapes; Latin: inter - between, among; Latin: medius - middle (intended to indicate that this species possesses some properties of S. aureusand some of S. epidermidis).
Significance
- Pyoderma - juvenile and adult, dogs and cats.
