General information

  • An ancient breed originating in Great Britain, used to drive cattle to markets by nipping at their heels. Retains its tendency to nip which means it is not very good with children and other dogs.
  • Not readily obedience trained but does make a good watchdog and is suitable for the urban environment.
  • Shorter in the body than the Cardigan Welsh Corgi: Cardigan , they are often born with a naturally docked tail.

Colors, markings and patterns

  • Self colors in red, sable, fawn, black and tan, with or without white markings on legs, brisket and neck.
  • Some white on head and foreface allowed.
