General information
- Credited to Louis Dobermann, a German tax inspector, in 1880. Derived from German Pinscher and includes Rottweiler, Greyhound and Weimaraner bloodlines.
- Requires careful training, loyal to family and good guarding breed.
- Suitable to the urban environment and hotter climates, but is not always good with other dogs.

Colors, markings and patterns
- Definite black, brown, blue or fawn (Isabella) only, with rust red markings.
- Markings to be sharply defined, appearing above each eye, on muzzle, throat, and fore chest, on all legs and feet and below tail.
- White markings of any kind highly undesirable.
