Chihuahua - Smooth Coat

General information

• Originated in Mexico, although mystery surrounds its arrival in that country.
• Also comes in a long-coated variety, although the short-coated is much more common.
• Very temperature sensitive, will shiver at the slightest breeze.
• The ultimate lapdog, is most happy when on a human lap, will therefore require less exercise than some breeds of this size.

Disease predisposition

• Luxating patella .

• Hydrocephalus .

• Cryptorchidism .
